A double dose of Sharknado videos

Here’s the trailer for Sharknado 2: The Second One. I’ll even throw in a four-minute “catch-up” video detailing the rich backstory of Sharknado 1. You know, so you don’t get lost in the plot.

When it comes to Sharknado, people tend to fall somewhere in one of these three camps:

  • Devout Fans: People who had no idea that the SyFy channel has been pumping out intentionally terrible shark/snake/monster movies for years, so the very concept of Sharknado blew their minds. They loved every gory, silly second of Sharknado and couldn’t stop talking about it on social media.
  • Disappointed Would-Be Fans: People who may or may not have known that SyFy channel has been pumping out intentionally terrible shark/snake/monster movies for years, but the very concept of Sharknado blew their minds anyway. They just had hoped that Sharknado would have been “less boring.”
  • Professional Haters of The Asylum: The Asylum, the company that puts out most of these cash-in terrible movies, has been an Internet pariah for years. You can learn all about them here.

I tend to fall into the second group. I don’t have anywhere near the vitriol for The Asylum that the rest of the Internet seems to have, but I was pretty profoundly disappointed by the first Sharknado. For me, the “dumb sea monster movie” to beat is still Shark Attack 3: Megaladon.
