James Franco To Star In Stephen King’s 11/22/63

Last year, Hulu greenlit a miniseries based on Stephen King’s excellent time-travel novel, 11/22/63. Now it looks like the series finally has its star: James Franco.

According to THR, Franco will be playing the lead role of Jake Epping, a school teacher who travels back in time to stop Lee Harvey Oswald from assassinating John F. Kennedy. It’s basically an “everyman” role, so Franco is as good a choice as anyone. Here’s an excerpt from this young unknown upstart’s demo reel:

If you haven’t read the novel, I definitely recommend giving it a shot. I’m a reasonably big Stephen King reader, and this one is probably my favorite book of his. 11/22/63 ain’t exactly high-literature, but it’s a lot of fun. The story isn’t strictly a thriller, it’s more of a romance than anything else… with a dash of Groundhog Day thrown in for good measure.

The Hulu miniseries is being developed by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions. There isn’t any word on a premiere date yet.

P.S.:

I don’t know much, but I’m pretty sure that a catchy title like 11/22/63 must be search engine click-bait gold!
