Krampus Trailer: A Christmas Horror Story

From the creator of Trick ‘r Treat, comes: Krampus. It’s looking to do for Christmas what Trick ‘r Treat did for Halloween.

Unlike Michael Dougherty’s earlier flick, Krampus won’t be an anthology of short holiday-themed films. This one is a single story about a family struggling to survive the attacks from Krampus, the mythical demon of Christmas. If you’re not familiar with Krampus, he’s basically an anti-Santa that punishes bad children. He’s gotten a lot of Slender Man-ish attention–for some reason–in the past few years. Krampus is the new hotness with the kids today.

Here’s the official plot outline from Legendary Pictures:

When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers.

All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family’s home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive.

The film stars Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner, Allison Tolman, Conchata Ferrell, Stefania Lavie Owen and Krista Stadler. Expect it to hit theaters on December 4, 2015.
