Netflix & Warren Ellis Are Making a Castlevania Series

That’s basically all anyone knows right now about Castlevania on Netflix. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying or working on the damn project.

Here’s part of Netflix’s press release:

Inspired by the classic video game series, “Castlevania” is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert, and Adi Shankar.

Earlier this year, Adi Shankar actually mentioned his involvement on the project via Facebook:

“I’m producing a super-violent Castlevania mini-series with my homies Fred Seibert and Kevin Klonde.”

According to Shankar it will be “super violent,” and “dark and satirical.” He expects Castlevania to “flip the vampire sub-genre on its head.”

I’m sure somewhere in the Netflix studios there’s a copy of this show’s script with the words “Van Helsing: The Series” crossed out in sharpie.

Anyway, let’s wrap this mother up with some METAL BLOODY TEARS.

I would storm Omaha Beach to that shit.
