Tusk: Kevin Smith’s Human Centipede

Kevin Smith is making a bizarre Human Centipede-esque dark comedy/horror film. Tusk tells the story of a mad scientist who kidnaps a journalist and tries to turn him into a half-man-half-walrus… thing. Smith has been hyping Tusk for ages. From this trailer, it certainly seems to be shaping up nicely. The backstory, according to the official Press Release:

TUSK is a modern-day monster movie that follows a journalist named Wallace (Justin Long) who finds the story of a lifetime in Mr. Howe (Michael Parks), a worldwide adventurer with amazing tales and a curious penchant for walruses.

Actually, the plot this movie is even stranger than it already appears. It came from a “real life” story that Smith discovered via Smodcast. Here’s the full clip: Even if I haven’t been too crazy about his output these past few years, I’ll always respect Kevin Smith as a “local boy made good” type of hero. That’s just science-fact at this point. Now let’s just hope that this next “dark” Smith film is better than Red State. Tusk hits theaters on September 19, 2014.
